"The death of these young
heroes, who went to the gallows
with the song `Shema Israel' on
their lips, will bring forth a mass
protest from world Jewry. They
died like soldiers on the field
of battle, to defend the be-
smirched honor of the tortured
Jewish Nation.
"Their act was an expression
of protest against the White
Paper of the British Colonial Of-
fice, which closed the doors of
Palestine in the faces of hun-
dreds of thousands of Jews, who
could have been saved from the
gas chambers of Treblinka, and
other mass murder camps.

JERUSALIM (ZOA) — Stu-
dents of the graduating classes
of Palestine's high schools have
been urged to enlist in the
Jewish Brigade, in a call by the
Jewish Central Recruiting Com-
mittee. All youths of 18 in the
8th grade of Palestine's high
schools were asked to join im-
mediately and told that they
would be granted diplomas up-
on enlistment. Those under 13
will have to enlist at the end of
the school year.
The Central Recruiting Com-
mittee pointed out that while
the need for manpower for agri-
culture and security, which in
the past was recruited from the
ranks of the school youth was
acute, nonetheless all priority
must be given to the Brigade.
