ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Markowitz of 15310 LaSalle Blvd. were
hosts to their immediate family at a dinner party in celebration
of their 30th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Harry Becker of Sherwood Forest entertained a group
of friends in her home with a shower in honor of Miss Betty Kahn,
daughter of Mrs. Moritz Kahn.
Mrs. Louis H. Sable has returned from Little Rock, Ark.,
where she visited her husband, Pvt. Sable, who is stationed at
Camp Robinson.
Mrs. Sam Smitt of 2716 Webb Ave. is leaving Friday for an - ex-
tended visit with her daughter, Mrs. H. G. Warren, in Atlanta, Ga.
Complimenting their mother, Mrs. Benjamin Lambert of the
Belcrest Hotel on the occasion of her birthday, Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas I. Brown of Lucern Dr. and Mr. and Mrs. William H.
Frank will be hosts at a dinner for the immediate f a m i 1 y this
Sunday evening in the Frank home in Wildemere Ave.
Mrs. Arnold Brodie of Oak Dr. has returned from a few days
n Kalamazoo where she visited Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ortwein.
Mrs. Walter Faught of Traverse City is the guest of her
mother, Mrs. David Epston of Longwood Ave.
Mrs. Max M. Fisher of the Lee Plaza Apt. left Monday for
Miami Beach, Fla., where she will spend the winter at the
Winterhaven Hotel.
Miss Betty Frank, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Frank of
Colorado Ave., and Miss Rhoda Lou Hayden, daughter of Norman
Hayden of the Belcrest Hotel, arrived Thursday to spend the
holidays with their families before returning to classes at Western
College, Oxford, 0.
Mr. and Mrs. Maier Finsterwald of Parkside Ave. have returned
from a short stay in New York City.
Miss Mignon Ginsburg arrived Tuesday from Mills College,
Oakland, Calif., to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred A. Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Freeman of Chicago Blvd. have as
their guest ther son, Alwyn V. Freeman.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brown of Warrington Dr. and Dr. and
Mrs. Nathan Schlafer of Wildemere Ave. have invited a group of
friends to a dinner at Huyler's next Tuesday.
Miss Sally Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas I. Brown
of Lucern Dr., and Miss Joan Freeman, daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Michael Freeman of Boston Blvd., will arrive Saturday from
Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N. Y. to spend the holidays with
their respective parents.
Mrs. Marvin Wetsman and her daughter, Wendy, of Indiana
Ave. have returned from a visit in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. DeRoy Kuttnauer of Birchcrest Ave. have re-
turned from Chicago where they spent a few days with their son,
Seaman 1/c Robert Kuttnauer, who is stationed at Great Lakes.
Complimenting Miss Lucille Stocker whose marriage to Dr.
Walter S. Glazer will take place next Sunday, Mrs. Joseph J.
Glazer was hostess at a breakfast at her home in Tyler Ave. on
Dec: 3. On Dec. 6. her sisters, Mrs. Jerome Mollon of Flint, Mrs.
Harry Fisher and Mrs. Ben Stocker gave a shower at the Wilshire
Hotel, and last Wednesday, Mrs. Jules Michaels honored her
cousin with a luncheon in her home in Clements Ave.
Dr. and Mrs. Milton T. Marx of Shrewsbury Dr. have re-
turned from a stay in New York City.
The Iota Sigma Tau Sorority announces that at a meeting on
Friday, Dec. 8 at the home of Sue Zeckman of Woodingham Ave.,
the following were initiated: Lenore Atlas, Elayne Bassey, Marion
Berg, Elaine Boxman, Marylin Friedman, Janet Granadier, Reva
Kolodney, Elinor Schiff, Rosalie Singer, Gloria Sugarman, Bernice
Weingarden and Joan Ze,ckman.
Miss Isabel Wolfner is arriving Friday from New York City
where she is a student at Finch College to spend her vacation with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julian G. Wolfner of Burlington Dr.
Stanley Immerman of Gloucester Dr. and Adolph Goetz have
invited a group of friends to a dinner at Huyler's next Tuesday
evening.
Miss Norma Wittelshofer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M.
Wittelshofer, and Miss Betty Lewis, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel
J. Lewis of Longfellow Ave., are expected home today from Con-
necticut College for Women to spend their vacation with their
parents.
Mrs. J. E. Fisher has returned to her home in Shaker Heights,
0., following a few days visit with Dr. and Mrs. Albert H. Krohn
of Cambridge Rd.

UNGER-BRUSON — Mr. and
Mrs. Martin P. Bruson of Grand
Ave. announce the marriage of
their daughter, Helen, to Tech.
Sgt. Ruvain Z. Unger, son of Mrs.
Esther Unger of Hartford, Conn.
Rabbi Joshua Sperka perform-
ed the ceremony at the bride's
home. She wore white .brocade
and her veil was made of fine
Italian lace which Sgt. Unger had
sent while on duty overseas.
Sgt. Unger has just returned
from Italy where he completed
51 missions and received the Dis-
tinguished Flying Cross, the
Presidential Citation, and Four
Oak Leaf Clusters.
Among the out of town rela-
tives who attended the wedding
were Mrs. E. Unger of Hartford,
Mrs. H. Sandlow of New York
City, Benjamin Touff of Cincin-
natti, Mr. and Mrs. William
Schiff, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schiff,
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Schiff and the
Jule Marks all of Columbus.
After a brief honeymoon in
Hartford and New York City, Sgt.
and Mrs. Unger will be in At-
lantic City where he will be
stationed.

LIEBERMAN - COHEN: Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Lieberman, whose
marriage took place Nov. 5 at
the Bnai David, Rabbi J. S.
Sperka officiating, returned from
their New York and Washington
wedding trip.
Mrs. Lieberman is the former
Rose Cohen, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. .Max Cohen of Sturtevant
Ave. The groom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lieberman of
Richton Ave.
Mrs. David Cooper was her
sister's matron of honor. Esther
Glass was maid of honor. Brides-
maids were Layne Berman,
Eleanor Applebaum, Marjorie
Cooper and Nancy Glass.

COHEN-COHEN: Miss Char-
lotte M.' Cohen, daughter of Mrs.
Victor Field of W. Euclid Ave.,
and Pfc. Arnold Cohen, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Cohen of
Elmhurst Ave., were married on
Dec. 6 at Lowry Field, Denver.
Miss Cohen went to Denver
since furlough plans were de-
layed. When the young couple
return to Detroit in February
there will be open house at the
groom's home. On Nov. 21, the
groom's mother and sister, Mrs.
Edythe Feldman, gave a shower
for the bride.

Mrs. Nathan Grunt of Hazelwood
Ave., announce the marriage of
their daughter, Sara, to Rubin M.
Folkoff, son of Mrs. Rebecca
Folkoff of Taylor Ave., on Nov.
26, at Congregation Beth Tefilo
Emanuel.
Lillian Grunt was her sister's
maid of honor. The bridesmaids
were Rose Grunt and Doris Alt-
man. Louis Grunt and Judy
Dzodin were junior bridesmaids.
Morris Richman was his broth-
er-in-law's best man.
Upon return from their honey-
moon in Chicago the newlyweds
will reside at 2012 Gladstone.
