Endorse Stand of Its President, Rabbi Freehoff,
and Pass Resolution on Palestine

CINCINNATI—The Central Conference of. American
Rabbis; in convention here, endorsed the stand of its presi-
dent, Rabbi Solomon B. Freehoff, who several months ago
issued a statement denouncing Congregation Beth ISrael of
Houston, Tex., which had ruled : out. voting membership for
anyone subscribing to Zionism or 'kashruth. The convention

with the Vaad Harabonim and
Vaad" Hakashruth • for the super-
vision of Kashruth in Detroit.
According . to this agreement,
kashruth signs henceforth will
be distributed by the Vaad Hara-
bonim and Vaad Hakashruth
through , the Merkaz.
The Kosher Butchers' Associa-
tion has agreed to cooperate with
these groups for the centraliza-
tion of- control of kashruth and
undertook to pay for Hashgachah
to the Merkaz: Thus, the , Mash-
gichim will receive their pay di-
rectly from the Merkaz.
• The new procedure will com-
mence on.• July 1 with the dis-
tribution of new signs.
