SOME GOOD entertainment is
planned for the Flag Day ob-
servance of the Men's Club of
Congregation. Bnai Moshe and
the American Legion . . . It'll be
held Wednesday evening in the
Bnai Moshe Banquet Hall . . .
Judge William J. Friedman is
guest speaker . . . Cpl. Harold
Gales furloughed last week from
Fort Ord, Calif. . . Of all the
surprises that occur daily, the
biggest one came upon learning
that Matilda Segal, assistant di-
rector of the Jewish Center, and
George Rubin, former Interme-
diate head, will be married soon
. Their most intimate friends
didn't even know of a tie-up!
THE BABY-FACED corporal
who came out of the USO-JWB
lounge was telling us, between
munches on a cookie in. one
hand and an apple in.-the other,
about the time over in Italy
when an order came to "clean-
up" for inspection by a high
official . . One of the boys,
looking like he was holding a
private war with the wash cloth,
bellowed his dissent . . "These
`little big-shots' coming over here
to give us the once over is get-
ting on my nerves! ... . I'm
through making myself look
cute for anyone!". .
However, after a short tit-a-tee
session with the top-kick, - he
gave in and responded to the
order . . When the inspection
was all over, the warrior ad-
mitted to the fellows that he
felt pretty good when the "little
big-shot" smiled at him with a
nod of approval—It turned out
to be General Mark Clark!
THE . TRUTH .
It isn't ice
that makes people slip—It's what
they mix with it!
