Re-Elects Mrs. Lewiston
ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY
Mr. , and Mrs. Morris Abrams of Marlborough Ave. will leave
on May 15 for Houston, Tex., where their son, Herbert C. Abrams,
is stationed. He will get his wings as Flight Lieutenant in Naviga-
tion in the Air Corps. Their son, Bert Abrams, was advanced to
Corporal prior to leaving for oversea

Mr. and Mrs. Sidney R. Solomon of Picadilly Road spent the
weekend in Cleveland attending the Metropolitan Opera Series.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Goldberg of Glynn Court will celebrate
their. golden wedding anniversary on Mother's Day, Sunday, Kay
14, at Pereira's. They have three sons, Ellis, Sol and Nathan, and
three grandchildren. The couple was married in Detroit.
- Mr. and Mrs. Samuel L. Kavanau of Calvert Ave., have re-
turned from a trip to San Francisco where they attended the wed-
ding of their daughter, Leslie, to Sgt. Louis M. Caro. They also
visited their son, J. Lee Kavanau, at Pasadena, Calif.
- Mrs. David J. Levy of Boston Blvd. is visiting her son and
daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. David J. Levy Jr. in Woodmere, L. I.
Mrs. Joseph Folz of Kalamazoo will arrive Sunday to be • the
guest of Miss Marie Newman of the Belcrest for a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Epstein have returned from a week
in New York City and Atlantic City. Enroute, they visited with
their son Tommy who is a student at the Hotchkiss school.

Mother's Day Services
The four chapters of the
Young Women of Bnai Brith
again will join forces to sponsor
their annual Mother's and
Daughter's luncheon on Sunday,
May 14, 1:30 p.m. at Webster
Hall.
Aaron Rosenberg, past presi-
dent of Pisgah Lodge, humorist,
author and executive member of
the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith
Council, will be the g u e s t
speaker.
Mickey Wolfe will provide an
entertaining interlude of comedy
and songs.
Highlight of the program will
be the coronation ceremony for
the "Honor Queens" and "La-
dies-in-Waiting."
Every year the young woman
who has done outstanding work
for Bnai Brith in her respective
chapter is chosen as the "queen"
and the two young women who
have done the next best work
are ladies-in-waiting.
The "Queens" are eligible to
compete for the district title at
the annual. Young Women's con-
vention, in Chicago, June 16,
17 and 18.
