Attacks Zionist Leaders, But
Realizes Obligation to
Co-Religionists Abroad

" PHILADELPHIA (JPS)—At-
tacking Zionist leaders for speak-
ing of the need of finding new
homes for millions of European
Jews after the war, the latest is-
sue of the Information Bulletin
of the American Council for
Judaism declares that "we have
at least the obligation to our co-
religionists abroad not to make
their future more otifficult by
conjuring up to then' behalf a
frightening bogey of enormous
mass emigration."
The Bulletin states that "the
sombre figures of the surviving
Jewish population . of Europe
contradict the wild talk of mil-
lions of European Jews ready for
mass emigration." Referring to
Zionist testimony at House hear-
ings on the J e w is h Common-
wealth resolution, the Bulletin
says: "Thus a frightening picture
was drawn of millions of Jews
knocking at the gates of other
countries; a picture that certain-
ly left its impression upon ev-
ery restrictionist Congressman."

mer Berger, executive secretary
of the American Council for

American Jewry is charged, with
the responsibility not only of
rescuing the victims of •Hitler -
ism, but also of assuming 'the
cultural and spiritual leadership
in Israel.

In order to build a constructive
Jewish leadership in America,
we must have a well informed
constituency.

It is the responsibility of each one of us, therefore,
to make certain that every member of every Jewish
family will be kept fully aware of what is happening
in Jewish life everywhere.
