ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY
Mr. and Mrs. J. Shirley Horwitz and their daughter, Judy,
are expected home this Friday from a few weeks' stay in Miami
Beach, Fla. For one week of their stay they had as their guest
Mrs. Horowitz' sister, Mrs. Milton Sims, who is at present residing
in Tampa, Fla., where her husband, Sgt. Sims, is stationed.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Feinberg of Lawton Ave. left Monday
for a few weeks' vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schroeder' of Birmingham returned on
Sunday from a week's stay in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Berger of Boston Blvd. left on Wednes-
day to spend a month in Tucson, Ariz.
Miss Caroline Brown, daughter of David A. Brown of Los
Angels, who has enlisted in the - WAVES, left on Wednesday
for New York City where she will receive her training at Hunter
College.
Cpl. Paul Broder is spending his 10-day furlough from his
post at San Luis Obispo, Calif. with Mrs. Broder and their small

Miss Laura Lowell and Miss Elsie Jackson have returned
to their home in New York City after an extended visit with
Miss Lowell's sister, Mrs. Harry Newman of Lawrence Ave.
Major Maurice P. Meyers has been transferred from fiirt Sills,
Lawton, Okla., to General Hospital No. 60, El Paso, Texas. Mrs.
Meyers and their small daughter, Harriet, accompanied him to
El Paso.
Rabbi Leon Fram has been appointed a member of the curri-
culum planning committee of the Department of Public Instruc-
tion in the State of Michigan. He is to serve on the sub-committee
on- intercultural understanding. The appointment was made by
Dr.• Eugene B. Elliott, superintendent of public instruction.
Dr. Max Wershow of the Polk Manor Apt. returned on Mon-
day from a month's visit in California.
Miss Shirley Hartman of Chicago Blvd. has returned from
