Iliumanitarian Efforts
Continue into 1944
To Assist Refugees

.

Humanitarian efforts to improve the status of Jews
everywhere continue unabated as we welcome the New
Year 1944.

In this country and abroad, through the United
Jewish Appeal for Refugees, Overseas Relief and Pal-
estine; with the aid of agencies set up by the Joint
Distribution Committee, Bnai Brith, National Refugee
'Service, United Palestine Appeal, National Labor Com-
mittee. for Palestine, and other Jewish causes, plans
are being formulated to assure a better future for
Jews,. everywhere.

The Year 1944 finds the Jewish people determinied
that nothing should be left undone either in providing
relief for the oppressed or homes for the dispossessed.

Beverly Hills Bnai Brith has
been spending $1,000 a month to
operate a servicemen's dormitory
in Hollywood, Calif. shown on
the right, housing and feeding 150
men every week-end.

Proudly saluting Old Glory at headquarters of
National Refugee Service, Inc., in New York, these
refugee children are happy to be restored to their
