Medical Program
For Liberated Jews
Outlined by OSE

NEW YORQ (JTA) — The vast
medical and health problems that
will face Jewish relief organiza-
tions after the liberation of the
Jewish communities of Europe
were outlined here by Dr. A. J.
Rongy, chairman of the American
Committee of Ose, the Society for
the Protection of Health Among
Jews. The program provides for:
1. Immediate feeding of Jewish
children through canteens, dis- .
pensaries, day-nurseries and spe-
cial distribution centers, also
distribution of food supplies to
families. The feeding of 100,000
children daily for at least the
first few months after the war
may be anticipated.
2. Re-building and repair of
Jewish hospitals and clinics. Re-
storation of the well known
Jewish hospitals of Warsaw, Lodz,
Cracow, Vilno, Lemberg, Kovno,
Riga, Vienna, Frankfurt and
Strasburg is considered by the
Ose.
3. Gathering of stocks of vari-
ous drugs, serums, vitamins and
instruments in free neutral coun-
tries so as to have them available
for distribution to Jewish com-
munities immediately upon their
liberation. Such preparatory
work is already in progress in
Switzerland.

Y. Public Relations Office
Claims No Order Sent
as N. Y. Post Says

NEW YORK (JPS) — Contra-
dicting a report in the New York
Post that the Secretary of War
had ordered distribution and cir-
culation of all anti-Semitic liter-
ature in military posts and naval
stations halted, the New York
Public Relations Office of the
Army said that there was no
record of such order at the Ad-
jutant General's office in Wash-
ington.

The story in the .Post also con-
tained the text of a directive from
the Secretary of the Navy in
which it was stated that "the
Navy Department objects to ma-
terial which, whether humorously
or not, disparages or belittles any
American or Allied racial or
religious group."

Demand Review
Of Frank Case

NEW YORK (JPS)—A full re-
view of the Leo Frank case,
which some 30 years ago was
viewed as America's own Drey- •
fuss Affair, was -demanded by
the New Republic, liberal week-
ly. Leo Frank; a Brooklyn Jew,
was lynched in Georgia after be-
ing convicted of the murder of a;
girl. His case was used to stir
feeling against the nomination
of Louis D. Brandeis to the U. S. •
Supreme Court.

The demand came as a conse-
quence of assertions made by
Arthur G. Powell, a former judge
of the Georgia Court of Appeals,
that he had definite evidence of
Leo Frank's innocence, but will
withhold it until "certain per-
sons" are dead. The New Repub- .
lic points out that "there is no
reason why Powell's information
should be withheld until 'certain
persons' go to the grave, presum-
ably with blood on their hands
or guilty knowledge in their
minds."
