Community. Council-Jewish Center Shaarey Zedek Men's
To Offer Peretz Program on Dec. 12 Club Gives Musical
Event on Wednesday
The J. L. Peretz program, the
first in a series of seven Yiddish
cultural affairs to be presented
jointly by the Jewish Commun-
ity Council and the Jewish Com-
munity Center, will take place
Sunday, Dec. 12, at 9 p. m., in
the Center's auditorium.
Inaugural program is dedi-
cated to the life and works of
one of the pillars of modern
Jewish literature—J. L: Peretz.
S. Niger, eminent literary critic
and publicist of New York, will
be the guest speaker. The Ha-
levy Singing Society of Detroit
will present a number of Peretz's
Yiddish poems set to music by
Jewish composers. Sigmund
Loew, will recite some of the
famous Peretz gems. Rabbi
Morris Adler will preside.

just earned his B. S. degree in
Medicine at the American Col-
lege of Beyrout, Lebanon.

Beyrout University prior to re-
ceiving his M. D. degree. He is
specializing in pediatrics.

of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel N. Hey-
man of Detroit, both of whom
are prominent in Zionist a n d
