DR. ROBERTSON
FOR MAYOR HERE
Editor, The Jewish News:
After careful thought and con-
sideration I• am submitting my
name as a candidate for mayor
in the hope that I will be elected,
so that I may help to direct the
City's affairs for the best good
of all our citizens. Especially do
I desire to exert my every effort
in maintaining Detroit as a fu-
ture home of our City's heroic
heroes, a place to envision while
they are "carrying on in the serv-
ice for our preservation" as
worth their sacrifice and worth
returning to when the victory is
won.
We have Bomb Busters, Block
Busters, City Busters, and Nation
Busters. May God protect this
Great Nation of ours and the
Citizens, from every Country of
the World, United under one
Flag, the Star Spangled Banner,
from any or all of these.
Respectfully yours,
-NI,
Tom Howard Robertson, M. D.

Warns of Possible
Disorder in Palestine
-
LONDON (JTA) — A warn-
ing that "an outbreak of serious
Arab-Jewish disorders in Pales-
tine is not impossible" was
sounded this week in an article
in the London Times, written
by its correspondent in Cairo,
Declaring that both the Jews
and the Arabs in Palestine "are
well armed, mainly with weap-
ons stolen and purchased from
troops stationed in Palestine,"
the article says that the Arab-
:Irvish problem has become
especially complicated as a re-
sult of the White Paper.
"The Arabs as a whole are
prepared to stand by the White
Paper," the Times correspondent
writes, !`but the Jews, influenced
by extreme Zionists; are not
satisfied and are clamoring for
unrestricted Jewish immigra-
tion."
