Will Be Held Nov. 15

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Farbsten of Burlington Dr. are on a 10-day
visit in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyers of Lincolnshire Dr. entertained a
group of friends at a dinner given in their home on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis K. Lambert of Whittier Rd. have returned
from a short trip to New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burak of Longfellow Ave. have as their
guest Tts. Burak's mother, Mrs. Benjamin Wolfe, of Grand Rapids.
Mr. and Mrs. DeRoy Kuttnauer of Fairfield Ave. will entertain
a group of their friends at a dinner in their home on Saturday,
Nov. 7.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Barnett of Pontiac left on Oct. 26 to spend
a few weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Miles Finsterwald of Chicago Blvd. are spending
10 days in New York City.
"Mrs. Louis Krause of Webb Ave. is visiting with her children,
Dr. and Mrs. David Feld, in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cohn of the Belcrest Hotel have as their
guest Mrs. Cohn's mother, Mrs. Rose Meyer of Los Angeles, Calif.,
Mrs. John J. Hagedorn returned on Wednesday to St. Louis,
Mo., following a stay of several weeks in Detroit.
Miss Edith Schetzer of Longfellow Ave. and Miss Ethel Rubiner
of Chicago Blvd. have returned from a 10-day visit in New York
City.
`Mrs. Samuel Gingold has come from Temple, Tex., to spend a
few weeks with her mother, Mrs. Joseph Ehrlich, at the Belcrest
Hotel. Her husband, Lieut. Gingold, is stationed at Camp Hood, Tex.
.( Mr. and Mrs. Moe Leiter have returned from Montreal, where
they visited with Mrs. Lieter's family.
Pvt. and Mrs. Morris Rosman have returned to Camp Edwards,
Mass., following a few days' visit with their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lichtig of Burlingame Ave. have had as
their guest Mrs. Lichtig's mother, Mrs. Laura Neumann of Cleve-
land, 0.
Pvt. Abner Friedman, son of Henry Friedman of Edison Ave.,
has been transferred from Long Beach, Calif., to Morrison Field.
West Palm Beach, Fla.
Henry and Merrill Solomon of Fairview, Mich., are visiting
Miss Lena Solomon of Atkinson Ave.
Sgt. Martin Hoffer returned on October 28 to Camp MacLellan,
Ala., following a 10-day furlough spent with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Benjamin Hoffer of Leslie Ave.
Lieut. Ernest L. Jay left on Sunday for St. Louis, Mo., where
he will serve in the Medical Administrative Corps. He is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Israel Jay of Grand Ave.
AlVIr. and Mrs. Leo Michelson of 2070 Collingwood Ave., have
left for Clarksville, Tenn., to visit with their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Horace J. Haber.
Mrs. Samuel Benjamin of 4302 Waverly has returned from
New York where she attended the Hadassah convention.
Paul Feinberg of Warrington Drive has returned from Cham-
paigne, Ill., where he spent a few days with his sister, Miriam,
who is attending the University of Illinois. Miss Feinberg spent
the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Silas C. Feinberg,
and attended the Michigan-Illinois game at Ann Arbor.
Dr. Irving B. Schulak has been commissioned a Captain in the
Medical Corps and will leave on Nov. 9 for Fort Douglas, Utah.
Mrs. Schulak and children will join them later.
Miss Ray Yanovsky of Monterey Ave. entertained a group of
20 friends at a dinner and personal shower at her home, on Oct. 28,
in honor of Miss Edythe Ruth Cohen of Elmhurst Ave., bride-elect
of Dec. 27.
Lieut. and Mrs. Leopold J. Snyder (Phyllis Pelavin) are now re-
siding in San Antonio, Tex. Lieut. Snyder, who is in the Air Corps,
has been transferred to Randolph Field where he is getting Flight
Surgeon training. ,

"Plantation Party" will be held

Miss Shirley Subar was elected
president of the Zionist Youth
Council of Detroit at a meeting
of representatives of Avukah,
Habonim, Hashomer Hatzair,
Junior Hadassah, Little Women
of Hadassah, Young Israel and
Young Judaea.
Other officers were elected as
follows: Joe Weizenbaum, vice-
president; Evelyn Robbin, treas-
urer; Hillel Grossman, corres-
ponding secretary; Shevie Laik-
in, recording secretary. Evelyn
Sislin is representative on the
Senior Zionist Council.
Committee heads are: Jewish
National Fund, Hadassah Yanich;
Hebrew classes, Simcha Alpert;
