Women's Clubs

ZEDAKAH APPROPRIATES
$1,050 FOR WAR WORK
At a special meeting of Zed-
akah Club at the home of Mrs.
David Trager, $550 was voted to
furnish two "Day Rooms" at
Sault Ste. Marie for recreation
activities. At present, 131st In-
fantry is stationed there. Zedakah
Club also donated $500 for Army
and Navy Relief Work. Mrs.
Maurice Cornfield is chairman of
Zedakah's U.S.O. Committee.

The 'annual excursion of the
North Woodward branch of the
Jewish Women's European Wel-
fare Organization will be held
Tuesday, July 28. Tickets can be

OF J. C. R. S. OF DENVER
The Detroit Auxiliary of the
Molly Segal of the Denver Jew-
ish Consumption Relief Society is
nearing the $1,500 mark in con-
tributions to the Jewish Con-
sumption Relief Hospital in Den-
ver, according to Mrs. Paul
Shapiro of 4834 Cortland Ave.,
delegate to the convention last
month. This figure, so far,. tops
the 1941 total by almost $600.
The hospital has netted through-
out the country the sum of
$77,000, compared with $65,000 in
1941. To this date, the Detroit

Mrs. Harry Weitzenbaum of Atkinson Ave. left Wednesday for
two weeks at Lake Placid, N. Y.



Second Lieut. Bernard Frank Kaye left for Fort Swift, Texas,
after spending his brief furlough with his mother, Mrs. Bertha Kaye,
of West Philadelphia Ave. Lieut. Kaye was recently graduated from
the officers' training school at Carlisle Barracks, Pa.



Mr. and Mrs. Louis Tobin have moved from Calvert Ave. and
are now residing at 2649 Webb Ave.

of Kendall Ave. are enjoying a two
weeks' vacation in Northern Michigan.



Benjamin Krell and Max Krell left Thursday, July 23, for two
weeks at Mackinac Island. They will return by way of Georgian

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Steiner of Elmhurst Ave. are vacationing
at Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tenn.



Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stone and son, Howard, their mother, Mrs.
Minnie Goldstein, and Mrs. Sam Moss are enjoying a two weeks'
stay in South Haven, Mich.



The Misses Marilyn Mattus and Sybil Marks entertained 25
guests at a breakfast Sunday morning at the former's home in
Fairfield Ave.



Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Cashman and son, Lionel, of Iroquois Ave.
have returned from a cruise on the S.S. South American. They were
the guests in Rochester, N. Y., of the Hotel Seneca where they were
married 50 years ago. They also visited with their sisters and
