The Jewish Community Coun-
cil of Detroit has issued an ap-
peal to every Jewish organization
and every Jewish individual in
the city to join in the rubber
drive. This is in response to a
request made to the Jewish Com-
munity Council through the War
Production Board by the Presi-
dent of the United States.
Every rabbi has been requested
to urge his congregation to take
to the nearest gas station all
scrap rubber that can be salv-
aged from June 15 to 27. One cent
a pound will be paid for all the
rubber turned in.
"This is an excellent oppor-
tunity," states Dr. Schmarya
Kleinman, chairman of the com-
mittee, "for the Jewish commun-
ity to demonstrate again its
whole hearted cooperation and
respondence is being exchanged support of America's war against
the enemies of civilization."
