The major fund-raising effort of our
community is now in full swing and De-
troit Jews are asked to give the record sum
of $985,000 for 55 overseas, local and na-
tional causes. All 'campaign divisions are
already engaged in soliciting for the drive,
and the community is called upon to be
more liberal in its giving this year than

NEW YORK, N. Y.—Dr. Everett R. Clinchy, left, president of the National Con-
ference of Christians and Jews, receives a citation from Joseph C. Hyman, direc-
tor of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. The award given an-
nually by Pi Lambda Phi, national college fraternity, was made in the Advertis-
ing Club here. It is given to a person in recognition of his services as a "true ex-
ponent of humanitarianism and brotherhood."
