ber' have left for Tucson, Ariz.
to spend two weeks with their
children, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Schreiber. A farewell dinner
was given them by their children
and grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cohen of
Wildemere avenue, daughter,
Mrs. Roy Paul, and sons are
spending the winter at their home
in Miami Beach.

Mr. and Mrs, Wallace R. Ros-
ner (Marilyn Novograd), for-
merly of West-Outer Drive, are
now residing in their new home
at 17709 Warwick road.

Nu fraternity and will receive
his master's degree in June.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lax, for-
merly of Greenlawn avenue, are
now residing at 301 B, Hickory
Lane, East Lansing. Mr. Lax is
attending Michigan State College.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Potter of
Cherrylawn avenue have re-
turned from a West Indies and
South American cruise.

Mrs. Harold J. Baskin of the
Belcrest Hotel has returned from
New York.

Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Rice of
the Belcrest Hotel are spending
the winter in Miami Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mendelson announce the engagement of
their daughter, Cyrille Lois, to Sam Cooper, son of Aaron Cooper
of Windsor and the late Mrs. Cooper. Miss Mendelson attends Wayne
University which Mr. Cooper also attended. A late March wedding
is planned.

Chronicle Culinary Corner

We are always looking for good cake recipes. Mrs. Monte Good
man of Clements avenue sends us a recipe for a Carmel Cake with
Seafoam Frosting. It is delightful. She recommends, however, that
this recipe be saved for "company" as it is very rich. We are sure
you will ,eoioy it, lor your next luncheon.
CARMEL CAKE
Cream 1/2 cup butter shortening
1/2 cup butter shortening
Add 2 cups brown sugar and 2 eggs to shortening.
Add 3 teaspoons vanilla, 4 teaspoons of baking soda, 1/4 tea-
spoon salt. Sift 21/2 cups of flour, add to mixture alternately with 1
cup of milk. .
Use 2 layer pans 9 or 10 inches. Bake in 350-degree oven for
about 30 minutes until well done.
SEAFOAM FROSTING
:1/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg white
21/2 teaspoons water
Put all ingredients into top of double boiler and cook two
minutes. Beat until thick with electric beater in the pot.

by Norman Katkov.
The chapter is organizing a
choral group, under the super-
vision of Mrs. Brindze and Mrs.
Irving Plotnick, to meet every
