Mrs. Monte Good man of Clements avenue sends us a recipe for a Carmel Cake with Seafoam Frosting. It is delightful. She recommends, however, that this recipe be saved for "company" as it is very rich. We are sure you will ,eoioy it, lor your next luncheon. CARMEL CAKE Cream 1/2 cup butter shortening 1/2 cup butter shortening Add 2 cups brown sugar and 2 eggs to shortening. Add 3 teaspoons vanilla, 4 teaspoons of baking soda, 1/4 tea- spoon salt. Sift 21/2 cups of flour, add to mixture alternately with 1 cup of milk. . Use 2 layer pans 9 or 10 inches. Bake in 350-degree oven for about 30 minutes until well done. SEAFOAM FROSTING :1/4 cups brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 egg white 21/2 teaspoons water Put all ingredients into top of double boiler and cook two minutes.
