SPECIAL SEASON

ALFRED STONE

The Detroit Chapter of Ha-
dassah is currently engaged in
their annual "Minyan Month"
activities under the leadership
of the co-chairmen, Mrs. Nathan
Spevakow and Mrs. Leonard
Birndorf.
Minyan, a technique of Youth
Alliyah, of which Hadassah is
the official representative in
America, makes it possible for
each Hadassah member to have
an opportunity to participate in
the Youth Alliyah movement of
rescue, eitication and rehabilita-
tion.
By banding together, 10 women
contributing $24 per year provide
for the care of a child in Israel
for six months.
A joint meeting of all chap-
ter and group boards will take
place at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 17, at the Detroit Leland
Hotel, to hear the report by
Mrs. Theodore Bargman, chapter
president, of the Hadassah na-
tional mid-winter conference in
New York, as well as reports by
group presidents.
Midrasha classes are held
every Wednesday morning, from
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Rose
Sittig Cohen Building and are
open to those desiring to learn
Hebrew or to improve their
knowledge of the language and
the Bible.
