Mrs. Fanny Harris of Chicago boulevard, sends us a very tasty
sweet-and-sour-cabbage soup recipe which she suggests for a cold
winter day—as just something to "hit the spot." We are sure you
will enjoy it.
SWEET AND SOUR CABBAGE SOUP

To serve six:
1 medium size cabbage
2 fresh tomatoes cut in small pieces
1 1 /2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
Nt cup of vinegar
Take the cabbage and cut in small pieces and scald with boiling
water. Cover in pot with cold water. Add tomatoes, cut up. Add
salt, pepper, and paprika. Then add the N cup of vinegar and enough
sugar to suit your taste.
Saute a medium sized onion sliced in one tablespoon of hot
chicken fat. When light brown add two tablespoons of flour. Add to
the cabbage soup. Cook under a medium flame and cook until brown.

After my appeal for a good Kishka recipe I am very happy to
remark that next week I will have one that you will all enjoy.
