Elects Officers

The Michigan Region of Wo-
men's American ORT held its
annual election of officers May
16 at the Franklin Hills Country
Club. The following officers were
elected:
Mesdames Arthur Bloom, pres-
ident; Harold B. Kukes, Irving
Raimi and David Ruby, vice-pres-
idents; Miss Henrietta Ascher, re-
cording secretary; Jerome I. Hau-
ser, corresponding secretary; Hy
Jackson, treasurer; Max Beal, fi-
nancial secretary; Benjamin
Shlain, office of administration;
and Charles E. Simons, parlia-
mentarian.
The new chapter presidents are
Mesdames Ben Jacob, south;
Clarence Erigass, northeast; Louis
Landsberg, northwest; Fred Col-
lier, Huntington Woods; Jerome
•Varon, Pontiac;- and Harry Mal-
bin, Mt. Clemens.

On June 10 at the Lee Plaza Hotel, Lois Strauss, daughter of
Mrs. Lizzette Strauss of the Lee Plaza, and the late Mr. Cy Strauss,
was wed to Barney Zamler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Zamler of
Griggs avenue.
The bride wore white marquisette and her bouquet was white
orchids on a Bible.
The matron-of-honor was Mrs. Julius Kushner. Bridesmaids
were Andrei/ Talmadge, Caroline Brown, Vivian Black and Mary
Graham. Lawrence Zamler, the groom's brother, was best man.
A reception and dinner at the Lee Plaza followed the cere-
mony. The couple is honeymooning at Miami Beach, Fla.

In a festive setting at her home, Thelma Kolodney, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore H. Kolodney of Sturtevant avenue, was
united in marriage with Donald Kaplan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Kaplan of Jackson, Mich., on June 11.
The bride chose for her wedding a ballerina length gown of im-
ported, ivory chantilly lace over satin with long fitted sleeves that
came to a point over her hands. The bateau neckline was detailed
scallops which also finished the hemline.
Her shoulder length veil of silk illusion was held in place by
a snug fitting cap of matching lace with the edges finished with a
braid of Illusion and inlwined pearls.
