With the objective of setting
a new day's record for a group
blood donation to the Detroit Re-
gional Red Cross Blood Center,
Bnai Brith lodges and chapters
will hold a blood bank rally at
7 p. m., Tuesday at Workmen's
Circle. The present record is
held by employes of the Cadillac
Motor Car Co., who gave 190
pints through the blood mobile
unit on Nov. 16, 1949, following
a contribution of 181 pints the
preceding day. Sparking the
drive for a new record will be
Leo Polk, Bnai Brith blood bank
chairman, who has given eight
gallons of blood since Pearl Har-
bor and will contribute another
pint on May 2 to start his ninth
gallon.

Marshall Lodge

At the meeting held on April
18, Karl Berg was nominated for
president of the lodge for the
ensuing year. The date has not
yet been set for the scholarship
and trophy awards for the best
essay on "Brotherhood" at Wayne
University. The following is a
schedule of activities of the
Lodge for the month of May:
May 2—the lodge is host to De-
troit lodges and chapters for a
blood donors rally, beginning at
7 p. in. May 7—Bellefaire drive.
May 9—games party fund-raising
affair. May 16—election of of-
ficers and•past presidents night.

The chapter is holding its final
charter membership dinner at
8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 3 at
Jericho Temple. An evening of
entertainment, card games and
refreshments is planned. The

Brandeis Lodge

Oti April 25, the Lodge pre-
sented a program on Hillel ac-
tivities and the entertainment
was furnished by the Wayne
University Hillel students headed
by Sol Goldberg, president of the
Wayne Hillel House. The eve-
ning was highlighted by the ren-
dition of a violin solo by Rhoda
Bebes, the vocalist was Geraldine
Yogoda, and the boogie piano
duet was presented by Larry
Stein and Buster Davidson, the
piano accompanist was June Beth
Thall. Sol Goldberg gave a talk
on the activities of the Wayne
University Hillel Foundation. The
lodge meets every second and
fourth Tuesday of each month at
the Rose Sittig Cohen Bldg.
