Letter to Editor
To the Editor:
There has been called to my
attention an article by Phineas
J. Biron, in your issue of Jas.
26 to which very grave exception
must be taken.
Most of the statements in this
article will be dealt with another
time. However, the designation
of myself as an 'ex-rabbi" is in-
accurate, malicious and harmful
to me. I am an ordained and
practicing rabbi, and a member
of the Central Conference of
American Rabbis, the Association
of Reform Rabbis of New York
City and vicinity, and the Alumni
Association of the Jewish Insti-
tute of Religion. I perform mar-
riages and funerals.
I am the executive director of
the American Jewish League
Against Communism, Inc., and I
am therefore doing social, edu-
cational and organizational work,
which many rabbis in this coun-
try pre doing at the present time.
The designation "ex-rabbi" is
therefore damaging to my inter-
ests as well as intentionally er-
roneous.
