From Elmira, N.Y,, comes news of the engagement of Betts
Fidelman, daughter of the Benjamin Fidelmans of Elmira, to Stuart
Komer of Horseheads, N.Y., son of Mrs. Bernard M. Komer of
Monte Vista avenue and the late Mr. Komer.
The bride-elect attended Elmira Free Academy and Briarcliff
Junior College. She is a member of Tau Beta Sigma Sorority.
Mr. Komer, athletic director of Horseheads High School,
attended the University of Illinois and is a graduate of Ohio State
University. A member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, he works as
a: part-time baseball scout for the St. Louis Browns.
Wedding plans will be announced later.

avenue recently passed the state
examinations making him a cer-
tified public accountant.

The Nathan Fishmans and
their daughter, Gerry, have re-
turned from an extended stay in
Los Angeles and Tucson, Ariz.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Yanich of
Leslie avenue have as their guest
their son-in-law, Rabbi Walter
Plaut, of Fargo., N. D.

A two year stay in Hawaii is
planned by Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Frankel of Washington, D.C.,
who recently visited 'with their
parents, the I. Rosensteins of
Lawrence avenue, while en route
to their new home.
The Frankels were entertain-
ed extensively during their De-
troit visit Mr and Mrs.
Samuel Weisman feted them at
a party for 35 guests, the Wil-
liam Feldmans gave a dinner in
their honor, and the Harry Mil-
lers were hosts at a party for
the Frankels.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Gursky, Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Dermer and Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Rosenstein also
entertained the visitors.

Mr. and Mrs. Merman J. Brown
gave an open house Feb. 5 at
their Stoepel avenue home to
fete Mrs. Brown's brother, David
Pollick of Los Angles, and his

bride-elect, Ethel Berlin
Cleveland.

vious of our lucky Detroiters
who are enjoying the warm

Boca Ratan is the vacation
spot for Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Schwayder and Mr. and Mrs.
Royal Maas. The Harry Farb-
steins are in Palm Beach, and
Miami Beach is the choice of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stiglitz, Harry
Stiglitz, the Isadore Jacobs and
the Jerry Greenblats. . . .
Making a return trek were the
James H. .Winemans who are
back from New Orleans, Dr. and
Mrs. Gerald Spero and their
daughter, Alice Jane, who are
back from New York, and the
John Hopps who returned from
Palm Beach.

From Hot Springs, Ark., our
mail brings us a note about the
party Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Sch-
reiber of Outer Drive gave in
celebration of their 44th wed-
ding anniversary. The Schrei-
bers, who are vacationing at the
Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs,
gave a dinner attended by many
Detroiters also vacationing there.
Among those helping the
Schreibers celebrate were Mr.
and Mrs. Irwin Schubiner, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Weller, the Max
Sheldons, the Charles Canvas-
sers, the Harry Rossmans and
the Emanuel Kleins.

in Savannah, Ga., to attend the
wedding of their grand niece,
