editor and radio commentator, is
the second in the list of person-

Israel?"

NEW YORK (WNS)—Scoring
what he called "scare reports
about Israel," Dr. Eli Davis, di-
rector of the Hadassah Medical
Organization in Jerusalem re-
vealed here that "not a single
epidemic has marred the health
record of the Jewish State, de-
spite the influx of 300,000 im-
migrants, most of them from
Arab lands."

"The only real health hazard
in Israel is in the reception
camps where because of a heavy
oriental Jewish population, Is-
rael is falling heir to diseases
indigenous not to itself, but to
HIP whole Middle East."

WASHINGTON
t WNS)—A
credit of $20,000,000 to Israel for
industrial development was
granted by the Export-Import
Bank as part of the $100,000,000
loan set aside for Israel last
January.
The present allocation brings
the amount allocated to Israel
under the loan up to $73,000,000.
The loan is to be repaid in 15
ears with interest at the rate
of 3 1i percent.
About 250 Israeli firms which
need American equipment, ma-

nansion or new production will
benefit from the credit.

Jewish Leaders
Defend Dulles

-NEW PORK—(YIVNA)—Two

prominent Jewish leaders, Ber-
nard Baruch and Dr. Abba Hillel
Silver, publicly repudiated the ac-
cusations of bigotry and intoler-
ance made against Republican
senatorial candidate, John Foster
Dulles.
Baruch said that he knew in
rersonal life Mr. Dulles was not
a bigot, while Dr. Silver claimed
that Dulles had always been a
staunch supporter of Israel.
At the same time Dulles de-
clared that he would not repudi-
ate the UN resolution on Jerusa-
lem because it was adopted
"largely at the insistence of the
U.S. delegation which I was head-
ing." This was a reply to a ZOA
demand that both senatorial can-
didates denounce the U.S. posi-
tion on Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the conference

NEW YORK — Dr. Israel Ta-
bak of Baltimore, president,
Rabbinical Council of America,
asserted that Jewish sectarianism
is already foreshadowing the
doom of Jewish life in this coun-
try.
"We American Jews should do
away with the denominationalism
which is dividing us more and
and more painfully," he added.
Dr. Tabak recommended the
establishment of a new type of
Synagogue in America—"a Syna-
gogue that will be called neither
orthodox, nor conservative nor
reforM but Jewish.
A non-denominational, non-
sectarian Synagogue that will be
patterned after the Synagogue of
the State of Israel." "The Jewish
masses are waiting for the estab-
lishment' of such a Synagogue,"
Dr. Tabak stated.
