Goldwater, president of the
United Jewish Appeal of Greater
New York and one of the mem-
bers of the UJA delegation tour-
ing Israel reported that he had
been authorized by Premier
David Ben Gurion to declare
that certain excerpts from a
speech delivered by the premier
on Aug. 31 were incorrect. The
speech was the one in which
Ben Gurion spoke of Jewish
youth immigration from the
United States.
Goldwater said he was "per-
suaded that at no time did the
prime minister say or give any
reason to believe that Israel is
interested in anything but free
will immigration of any Jews
wishing to enter this country."
The premier, Goldwater added,
"recognized full well that in
every country where Jews exist,
in the United States as elsewhere,
they will build as citizens of
their respective countries as Jews
have always done."
The chapter is planning a cock-
tail party to be held on Nov. 12.
Shirley Bernstein heads the fund-
. raising committee which is work-
ing on the affair. A ticket for

pital. Arrangements are in prog-

Downtown Lodge
The lodge will present an eve-
ning of entertainment featuring
"Stars of Tomorrow" on Thurs-
day evening. Oct. 27 at Jericho
Temple. Refreshments will fol-
low the program. At the last
meeting Menorah pencils were
presented to those who secured
three or more members up to
Sept. 30. A short form of initia-
tion was rendered by Alfred
Bounin, recording secretary of
the B. B. Council.

Keidan Lodge
The program committee of the
lodge will present an evening of
community singing in cooperation
with Julius Chajes, musical direc-
tor of the Center at 8:30 p.m.,
Tuesday at the Book-Cadillac. The
entertainers will be headed by
Wynn Gordon and her accom-
panist, Vivian Kozenn.

A fund-raising program will be
presented at the joint meeting of
the chapter and the lodge on
Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Bnai Moshe.
Mrs. Irving Lipson, fund-raising
chairman, announced. A variety
show of songs, dance and dra-
matics will be presented. Phyllis
Pullberg, winner of the Chopin
music contest. will he featured.

Tikvah Lodge
Bnai Brith women were briefed on the work of the B. B. Anti-Defamation League at a seminar
attended by representatives of all 16 chapters. The
league was organized to join forces with men
and women of goodwill everywhere representing every color and creed in formulating a program
to foster better human relations. The league is one of the many activities to be helped from pro-
ceeds of the "Borschtcapades" to be presented Nov. 21 at the Masonic Temple. The Greater Detroit
Women's Council is sponsoring the show, Mrs. Kalman Brass, ticket chairman, asks all members
