Place to Relax
ONCE THERE was a time wh en
a group of men could troupe in to
a bowling alley and act as m en
should. It was a place of phy 5-
ical exercise and emotional r e-
taxation.
The joint was delightfully d e-
void of wimmin. Consequentl Y.
when the 10 pin stood up and er
the impact of a solid 1-3 hit, th e
individual robbed thereby cou Id
vent his displeasure vocally; a n
outlet approved of by medic al
men. incidentally.
Or if the bowler "blew" a 5
pin, hz could hurl appropriat
epithets at the maple so as to g et
the uncomfortable incident out of
his system and make for a bette r
following frame.
So what happened?

Homes
Mustn't Enjoy
THE SAME VICIOUS plot has
been hatched against the pool-
room. Vice? Bali! so much bal-
derdash, and the wimmin know
it. The point is that the male is
enjoying himself too much in the
poolroom, and according to the
"gentler sex's" way of thinking.
that shouldn't be.
As far as the female is con-
cerned, any place that a male en-
joys himself with his own kind
is an evil and must go. Man has
no right to, be at ease without
woman, they maintain.

Germans to Try
`Beast of Belsen
'
FRANKFORT-- (WNS) —Ilse
Koch, the notorious "Beast of
Belsen," who was accused of
making lampshades from the
skins of Jewish victims, will be
tried by a German court when
she completes the four-year term
imposed on her by an American
court for crimes against Allied
nationals.
The wife of the former com-
mander of the Buchenwald con-
centration camp is to be released
from prison this week.
Originally sentenced to a life
term, her sentence was commuted
by Gen. Lucius Clay, who was
then the American commander in
Europe. The communtation
aroused sharp protests, but the
general claimed legal experts ad-
vised him there was not sufficient
evidence to uphold the original
sentence.

Fire With Fire
SO NOW ONE of the last hide-.
outs of the American male is be-
ing threatened. "Dens of vice,"
is the shrill cry. Poppycock! It
• just so happens that the corner
4 poolroom is one of the last locales
available to the harassed male.
We can hear it now: "My good-
• ness, I had 47 points at one stage
of the game and now you've made
the 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 balls to win
the contest, now isn't that some-
thing!"
If the wimmin take over the
poolroom, then there seems but
one logical thing to do, fight fire
with fire.

Protect the Men
SO THE WIMMIN got togethe
and began calling the bowlipg al
ley a den of vice and corruption
The bowling alleys are a reed
ing place for future defilers o f
the law. they said.
We must clean out the bowlin g
alleys and protect our sons an d
brothers from the bookies, shill
and lord knows what other evil
lurk behind those closed doors
the wimmin-folk cried.
It all boiled down to the far
that simply because the bowlin g
alley was no place for a woman
it was evil. The complacent mal
of course was to stupid to se e
what was happening.
So, before he realized what wa
going on, the issue was no longe r
in doubt. The bowling alley was
no place for relaxation "with the
boys" any longer.

The giant-sized housing "gun" shown above is Indicative of what is being done to provide homes
for the 82,000 immigrants now living in tents and barracks in Israel. The "gun" is actually a
cement pourer which fills a huge mold to fashion a three-room home. A cement "gun" can produce
eight homes a day. United Jewish Appeal funds provide for the reconstruction programs of
the Joint Distribution Committee, United Palestine Appeal and United Service for New Americana.
