PHIL ROTHSCHILD

WE ALWAYS THINK of the

New Year as a time to turn
over a new. leaf; in other words,
to wipe the slate clean and to
to start over.
The Chinese have a tradition
of paying all debts before the old
year ends and to start the new
year off free and clear. But what
happens with us? Resolutions
are made but we continue in
about the same way from year
to year.
Now is the time to think of
the New Year as a period to take
inventory of ourselves and to
check our accomplishments of
the year just ended and to lay
plans for the year 5710. Maybe
some progress can be made by
retaining some of the old habits
but adopting some new ones.
