Enrollment Up
at Beth Yehudah

With registrations still coming
in at the rate of 70 a week, en-
rollment in Yeshivath Beth Ye-
hudah has climbed to a record
total of 600 students, Rabbi Sim-
eha Wasserman, Yeshivah dean,
announced. Registration will
continue until after the High
Holy Days.
Six classes of the day school
and afternoon sessions of the
Yeshivah have been closed,
Rabbi Wasserman revealed, and
only a few seats remain in most
of the other classes.
Two new instructors have been
added to the faculty. They are
Mrs. Alice Reinheimer, who has
taught many years in the Detroit
public schools and Louis Schul-
man, a faculty member of Tap-
pen Intermediate.

Israel Import Licenses
Issued for '$3,000,000

NEW YORK—The Israeli goit-
eminent has recently issued im-
port permitsofor the sum of $3,-
000.000 from the United States,
according to the Israel Corpora-
Ulm of America.
The total Includes the amount
of $500,000 for newsprint; $600,-
000 for raw materials for the tex-
tile industry; $1,500,000 for auto-
mobile spare parts and tires; and
1400,000 for miscellaneous goods.

Dr. Alexander W. Sanders,
chairman of the board of gov-
ernors of the Midrasha, College
of Jewish Studies, announced
that classes will begin on Thurs-
day, Oct. 6.
They will be held on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings in the
Ruse Sittig Cohen building, 13226
Lawton avenue.
In the teachers training ad-
vanced Hebrew department, the
following courses will be offer-
ed: Bible, Hebrew Literature and
Grammar, Yiddish Literature and
Grammer, Talmud, Philosophy,
Education, History and Israel.
The following subjects will be
offered in the general Jewish
studies department: H e b r e w
Language and Grammer, Yiddish,
Bible, Jewish Literature, History,
Philosophy, Group Work Techni-
ques and Israel.
Courses in Arts and Crafts,
Jewish Music and Dramatics, will
also be offered. With the ex-
ception of the Hebrew and Yid-
ish courses, all other courses will
be taught in English in this de-
partment. The Israeli pronuncia-
tion will be used, and emphasis
will be placed on conversational
Hebrew.

Informal Dance

The Adult Group, ages 21 to
35, of the Rouge Recreation
House, will hold an informal
dance at 9 p.01., Saturday, at the
Crystal Ball Too in , Masonic
Temple. Everyone is welcome.

tained for the Michigan-Min-

The Bnai Moshe Sunday School
has introduced Hebrew in all
classes from the third through
tenth grades.
