DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE
By HELEN TENNENBAUM
REASONING, UNDERSTAND-
ING, or any form of logic seem
to fail us when a person close to
our hearts is called away forever.
Faith is what we need most at
such a time, and faith in the
knowledge of God's wisdom is
what we pray for and for those
---, whose dear one
is lost to this
world.
With these
,thoughts in
mind we would
like to expres
our heartfel
sympathy to Mr
and Mrs- . Nathan
Rossen and liar
old and Sanford
Ilelen
Rossen, in their
bereavement, the death of Jor-
dan Rossen who, stricken with
polio, passed away less than one
week ago.

ALL W110 KNEW Jordan con-
sidered his friendship a privilege
and will always keep his mem-
ory alive. When Jordan gradu-
ated from Central with the high-
est honors possible, last January,
teachers joined with the students
in, wishing Jordan success at
Northwestern University. Jordan
attended Northwestern for the
spring semester and had already
made many new friends in addi-
thin to those he left behind in De-
troit.
Indeed the class of January, '49
will always remember the class
history, presented in the eloquent
manner which made Jordan the
winner of many of Central's for-
ensic contests and one of the
school's great assets at everything
he attempted.
• • •
HIS FRIENDS remember the
plays, the operetta, and other
school functions in which he par-
ticipated. They remember too
Jordan's often light hearted man-
ner on dates and at parties, and
his more serious moods when he
joined the fellows in discussions.
Indeed, these are all memories
now, and those of us who knew
Jordan are thankful that he was
able to make so much out of his
short life.
Although none of us can un-
derstand why Jordan had to leave
us. we can only hope and pray
that he has found a lasting peace.
To the family of Jordan Rossen
we say that we know no one will
be able to ease your heartaches,
but hope that some solace may be
found in the knowledge that Jor-
dan will live on in the hearts of
his friends as long as they live.

YOUR REPORTER is certain
that you understand why we
were unable to write a regular
Teen-age column this week.
This column, in memory of
Jordan Rossen, we hope, express-
ed the feelings of all the Central-
ites and graduates who wanted
Jordan's family to know that
their loss is shared, even if only
in part, by the countless persons
who were privileged to know
their son and brother.
