took the old Jewish immigrant from Russia
and Poland 10 years, the new immigrants ac-
complish in 10 months. These people who
have gone through hell in Europe before
coming here, are least morbid about their ad-
justment in the United States. They take to
America as ducks to water and they manage
to escape all the clashes of culture and loyal-
ties which were the curse of the older im-
migrants. The report tells also a remarkable
story of efficiency of the new organizations
which have grown up to help the new im-
migrants. The job of receiving, distributing
and placing the new immigrants not in a few
big cities, but all over the United States
makes interesting and hopeful reading mat-
ter.
