The engagement of Gloria liarrit:t Gurin, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Gurin of New York, to Arthur Jerome Ross, son of Mrs.
Claire Ross of Webb avenue, was announced at a dinner party held
in New York. The bride-elect is studying psychology at the Uni-
versity of Michigan.'Mr. Ross is a pre-medical student at the same
school. A June wedding in New York is planned.

A musical comedy, "Sadie in

agencies.

drive announced the engagement of their daughter Caryl Phyllis
to David L. Shapiro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Shapiro of Cherry-
lawn avenue. Miss Klein is a student at Wayne University. Her
fiance attends the Detroit College of Law.

The betrothal is announced of Louise Sternberg, daughter c'
Mrs. Celia Sternberg of Blaine avenue, to Donald Bernard Zeidmas.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Zeidman of Monterey avenue. An
early September wedding is planned.

At a family dinner celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Finebloom of Blaine avenue announced the
engagement of their daughter Tillie to Leon Frankel, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Sander Frankel of New York City. Mr. Frankel is a
graduate of Long Island University and St. John's law school. He
is a member of the New York Bar. A June wedding is planned.

Israeli Pilot Tells
Story in Collier's

Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Field, for-
merly of Mt. Clemens, are now
residing in Grosse Pointe.

"I Flew for Israel." the story
of an AAF veteran from Los An-
geles who enlisted in the Israeli
air force, is related in the April
30 issue of Collier's magazine.
The article is written by former
war correspondent. Quentin
Reynolds, as told to him by the
pilot. Julian Swing. "I Flew for
Israel" is an eyewitness portrayal
of the character of the Israeli
which enabled him to win an
"impossible" war.

D, Group I, led by Eveleen Bud-
nitzky, follows in a close second
place. Division M, Group • 11,
whose chairman is Ruth Magid,
is in third place, while Division

chairman, follows in fourth place.

annual Interfraternal dinner of
the Detroit Area Masons, Knights
of Columbus and Bnai Brith
which will take place Saturday,
April 30, at the St. Mary's Mag-
dalen Parish Hall, Melvindale.

Participants will be Mrs. Moses
Lehrman, who will speak on the
historic position of the Jewish
woman; Mrs. M. J. Wohlgelernter,
who will speak on the role of
Jewish women in the new Israel;
and Mrs. Arthur Selmar, who
will discuss Jewish women on
the American scene. Mrs. Joshua
Sperka will act as moderator.
Saturday, May 7 has been des-
