Joust Men's Clubs Dinner
to Hear Address by Sachar

at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 22,
at Bel-Aire.
This will be Dr. Sachar's first
appearance in Detroit since his
election to the presidency of the
Jewish-sponsored university. He
will speak on "The Jewish Fate
and Future."'
Pi.rticipating men's clubs will
be those of Shaarey Zedek, Beth
El, Bnai David, Northwest He-
brew, Beth Aaron, Bnai Moshe
and the Downtown Synagogue.
In accordance with custom, the
dinner will be strictly Kosher.
Subscriptions are $5 a plate.
Reservations may be made at
Temple Israel or the associate
Synagogues.
As president of the host club,
Maurice Levin will deliver the
welcoming address. Harry Plis-
kow will serve as toastmaster
and Rabbi Leon Fram will intro-
duce Dr. Sachar. Cantor Robert
S. Tulman will entertain with
traditional songs and those from
his operatic repertoire.

Dr. Abram L. Sachar, founder
and formerly national director of
Bnai Brith Hillel Foundationi and
now president of Brandeis Uni-
versity, will be guest of honor at
the annual intercongregational
men's clubs dinner.

at 9 p.m., Saturday, March 26, at
the Northwest Hebrew Congre-

ality contest will be chosen at the
affair, Sara Lee Eichler of the
Rebecca Gratz Auxiliary, fund-

Women of Bnai David
Plan Holiday Meeting

A panel of three Masada mem-
bers will lead a symposium fol-
lowing late Fridly evening
services, March 11, at Shaarey
Zedek, as part of the Masada
Weekend in Jewish Living. The
panel, composed of Leonard Ba-
ruch, Elaine Krohn and William
Davidson, will discuss "Where
Does Zionism Go From Here?"
The three-day program will be
climaxed Sunday night with a
party featuring dancing, enter-
tainment, refreshments and a
Purim theme, at the Park Ave-
nue hotel.

The Bnai David Sisterhood
will hold an open meeting Mon-
day to celebrate Purim. Mrs.
Joshua Sperka will be narrator
for "Purim Fantasy," the sister-
hood choral group will sing and
Cantor Hyman Adler will lead in
community singing, Mrs. Henry
Schore, of the entertainment corn-
mitte, said.
Mesdames Morris Sandubrae
and Morris Garber are co-chair-
men for the "Nite of Games"
planned by the Sisterhood for
April 4.

Lionel Hampton, world-famous
