Response Good
in Pay-Up Drive

An outline of the proposed
plan of reorganization of the
Junior Service Group has been
mailed to all members as prep-
aration for the closed meeting at
2 p. m., Sunday, in the Center.
Lawrence Fleischman, president,
urges members to study the plan
before the meeting so that they
will be prepared to vote upon it

Response of contributors to the
Pay-Up drive conducted by the
Junior Division last Sunday was
good, according to Al Colman,
chairman of the drive to collect
unpaid Allied Jewish Campaign
pledges.

"Most contributors welcomed
the volunteer workers and read-
ily made payment on their bal-
ances," Colman said.

Colman commended the vol-
unteer workers who turned out
for assignments. Many workers
took three and four assignments
during the day, he said.

Jewish Youths
Eye Trade School

Shomrim of Hashomer Hatzair
and Habonim youths are evincing
an interest in the program of his
school of manual arts, Louis Mo-
sher, director, revealed. Some of
the youths are looking forward
to going to Palestine and want
training in mechanics, he ex-
plained.

The school will reopen
doors
next week under the sponsorship
of prominent industrial and civic
leaders including two Jewish en-
gineers and one youth worker.
The organization will be called
Boys Preparatory, Inc., and will
be centered at 6535 Russell street.
The board of education is cooper-
ating in placement and guidance.

Jewish leaders who have been
placed on several of the com-
mittees include Karl Segal, Leon
B. Kay and Leonard Kasle.
