Pioneer Women
Raise $68,000

Nearly $68,000 in donations
and - pledges have been raised
by Detroit Pioneer Women to-
ward the national quota of
$1,000,000, Mrs. D. Colman,
fund-raising chairma n, told
4,000 guests at the annual do-
nor event last week at Masonic
Temple.
A plea for continued aid to
fsrael and DP's was voiced by
Ira A. Hirschmann, the guest
speaker.
Morris Lieberman, president
of the central committee of
120A, greeted the audience and
praised the Pioneer Women for
their work.
Dellakova and Berk, dancers
of Palestinian themes, and Can-
tor Saul Meisels headed the
musical program.
Celebrating the, success of its
donor event, the Goldie Myerson
Group of PWO will hold a."Vie-
tory Social" Tuesday at 11818
Dexter boulevard.
The club is completing plans
for a Chanukah latke party, Dec.
25 at the home of Mary Bed-
marsh, 2903 Webb avenue. An Is-
raeli movie and a candlelighting
ceremony will be highlights.

Receives $250,000 Gift

Plans for its annual Chanukah
party, scheduled for Dec. 26,
will be discussed by the Beth
Aaron Sisterhood at a meeting
Monday in the Synagogue. Mrs.
Fred Greenstein is chairman of
the affair.
The dramatic group is rehears-
ing under Mrs. Sidney Weinberg
for a play to be given at the
sisterhood's birthday party in
January.
In the cast are Mesdames Ir-
win Levine, Adolph Winkler,
Mac Silverman, Nathan Feld,
Irving Chaiken, Nathan Wolfe,
Jack Pearlman, Sam Simon, Da-
vid Brozgold, Ben Wasserman,
Jack Raisin and Joseph Haas.

Jaffee of Fall River, Mass., and a
group of his friends have donated
$250,000 to Brandeis University
toward the establishment of the
William Jaffee Memorial Library
Fund.
