Silver hailed the accomplish-
ments of Histadrut in a statement
to the annual conference Nov. 7.
The following is the statement:
"Among the many forces which
have contributed to the upbuild-
ing of the Land of Israel which
culminated in the establishment
of the State of Israel this year,
none has served with greater ef-
fectiveness and consecration
than the organized labor move-
ment in Israel.
"I know of the work of the
Histadrut and have had occvion
frequently in the past to extol
its spirit and its concrete ac-
complishments.
"The organized labor move-
ment in Israel is representative
of the finest traditions of de-
mocracy and social vision which
we are proud to associate with
the essential spirit of our peo-
ple."

Lou Tendler, special writer for

guest speaker at the meeting of
the Career Group at 8:15 p.m.,
Tuesday at the Jewish Center.
He will review "Washington
Witch-Hunt" by

Awaits Social Mixer
The Wayne University chapter,
Intercollegiate Zionist Federation
of America, is planning a social
mixer for 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at
Billet House. All are invited.
Wayne delegates will attend a
regional seminar, Nov. 26-28 at
Ann Arbor. Those interested in

in the conference, Nov. 14-17, as
well as in the 40th general as-
sembly of the Union of Ameri-
can Hebrew Congregations, which
will be held here at the same
time.
Ile is scheduled to present a
paper ,' to the NATS on "The
Executive Secretary and Temple
Administration" and will also
extend greetings to the group
and present his presidential re-
port.
He will attend the pre:con
vention meeting of the executive
board of the UAI1C, will repre-
sent the NATS at the ,75th anni
Juniors Spur Efforts
in Red Feather Drive
Under the leadership of Sam-
uel Kaner, 10 teams of Junior
Servile Group workers have in-
tensified their efforts in these
closing weeks of the Red Feather
Drive. The goal is to double the
amount collected last year by
the Juniors.
Additional volunteers who can
put in an hour or two of •service
can still be used. Any young
