NEW YORK—Dr. Abba Hillel Silver hailed the accomplish- ments of Histadrut in a statement to the annual conference Nov. 7. The following is the statement: "Among the many forces which have contributed to the upbuild- ing of the Land of Israel which culminated in the establishment of the State of Israel this year, none has served with greater ef- fectiveness and consecration than the organized labor move- ment in Israel. "I know of the work of the Histadrut and have had occvion frequently in the past to extol its spirit and its concrete ac- complishments. "The organized labor move- ment in Israel is representative of the finest traditions of de- mocracy and social vision which we are proud to associate with the essential spirit of our peo- ple."
