For gen , One brotherhood in
action, one should look at Mt.
Clemens.
A short time ago, the Jewish
community there set out to raise
$45,000 for the United Jewish
Appeal.
Max Elkin was named chair-
man, and a team of energetic
aides was appointed to share the
burden.
The response to the campaign
has been wonderful, Elkin said.
But what pleases him most is
the cooperation received from
non-Jews.
"We have been deeply grati-
fied to find that scores of non-
Jewish citizens—unsolicited and
not intended to be solicited—
have sent donations or asked
that drive workers call on them,"
the chairman declared.
"This, to my mind," he added,
"is real brotherhood and Ameri-
canism. This is the only an-
swer to strife inside and among
nations."
