UPA Accepts
Resignation of
Henry Montor

NEW YORK (WNS)—The re-
signation of Henry Montor as
executive director sof the United
Palestine Appeal was accepted
by the executive • committee of
the UPA by a vote of 14 to 1, with
four members abstaining.
The resignation of Montor came
after a long controversy between
him and the leadership of the
United Jewish Appeal. Montor
was .accused of making unfound-
ed assertions about the drive
leadership and of carrying on an
agitation which would -split the
ranks of the UJA and UPA.
Speakers at the meeting char-
acterized as baseless Montor's al-
legations that American Zionist
leaders desire to control the fi-
nances of the State of Israel and
employ autocratic methods in re-
fusing to grant representation on
the UPA to Jewish welfare funds
and community chests.
At the same time the meeting
decided to broaden the base of
the United Palestine Appeal by
giving one - third representation
to Jewish welfare funds and com-
munity chests.
