Is On Way to Israel
The sailing of a cargo ship
from New York to Israel was
held up for an hour last week
to permit the Detroit Bnai Brith
Aid to Israel convoy to drive
right up to the docks and into
the ship.
The convoy had phoned the
Materials for Palestine office in
New Jersey just 30 minutes be-
fore the scheduled sailing.
10 AUTOS IN CONVOY
The caravan was composed of
seven Dodge trucks and three
jeeps with a cal load of cloth-
ing and food. Among the big
contributors were the Bakers
Union, locals 71-58, with two
trucks and 50 cases of food
valued at $5,000 and the Rabbi
Mandell M. Zazer lodge and
chapter with tie two jeeps.
At a meeting of the Bnai Brith
Women's Council, all Detroit
chapters undertook food projects
in the drive. The Women's Dis-
trict Grand Lodge No. 6 con-
tributed a truck which the De-
troit chapters pledged to keep
constantly filled.
