SAMUEL Leibowitz,
who enjoyed a strange and

reputation when he
was a lawyer, likes to tell this
joke about the profession.
While in court one day, he
was questioning the wife of a
notorious burglar and strong-
arm crook.
"And you knew. this man was
a crook when you married
him?" he asked.
"OH, yes," said the woman
calmly. "I knew."
"Then why did you marry
him?" asked the clever lawyer.

JERUSALEM (WNS)—As a

Joseph, military governor of Je-
rusalem is disappointed in Cana-
da's failure to recognize the new
State of Israel.
"I am very attached to Cana-
da and I am rather puzzled by
her hesitation in recognizing us.

showed great statesmanship and
