THE MAN WHO

DIDN'T NEED ELECTRICITY „,,

Life with Father was smooth, tranquil and an.

ruffled . s so long as Mother kept she hired

help on their toes; saw that no slip-up disturbed

his ease!

Today, electricity's the hired

which does the work faster s s s easier s s t and

more reliably, too.

But just picture doing all the tedious household

tasks the old-fashioned way, and electricity will

seem even a bigger bargain!

Cow Shows Peace
Is Possible in Land
of Milk and Honey

TEL AVIV (WNS)_The
in-
habitants of the Jewish outlying

quarter of Bait Vegan, some
miles from Jerusalem,, decided to
buy's cow.
With
municipal
slaughter-
houses closed and the food sit-
uation becoming more critical
each day, they thought a
cow
might come in handy.
But the cow decided otherwise.
On the way from Jerusalem to
Bait Vegan, she eloped and ran
to the nearest Arab village of
Malha. The Jews could not fol-
low.
4.
On the next morning, however,
an Arab procession came up
from Malha to Bait Vegan.
In the front was the cow.
Flanking her were two Arabs
with white flags.
The Arab delegation turned
the cow over to the Jews, ex-
plaining that they wanted noth-
ing but peace from their Jewish
neighbors.
