With municipal slaughter- houses closed and the food sit- uation becoming more critical each day, they thought a cow might come in handy. But the cow decided otherwise. On the way from Jerusalem to Bait Vegan, she eloped and ran to the nearest Arab village of Malha. The Jews could not fol- low. 4. On the next morning, however, an Arab procession came up from Malha to Bait Vegan. In the front was the cow. Flanking her were two Arabs with white flags. The Arab delegation turned the cow over to the Jews, ex- plaining that they wanted noth- ing but peace from their Jewish neighbors. `Voice of JWF' to Air Functions of Center The Jewish Center will present, a skit depicting some of its func- tions at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, over WJLB, on "The Voice of the Jewish Welfare Federation."
