JERUSALEM (Special) —The
Yisliuv leadership is planning
a $2,000,000 security fund to
strengthen the defenses of iso-
lated Jewish colonies, partic-
ularly those near the Syrian
frontier. The tax would also be
used to increase Jewish settle-
ment police and to bolster Ha-
ganah against the possibility of
an Arab uprising.
Worried by the disorders last
week in which many Jews and
Arabs died in the Tel Aviv-
Jaffa zone, communal leaders
said that they wanted full pre-
cautions to be taken in case
Arab rioting breaks out anew
in the event of a report by the
UN Palestine committee that is
unfavorable to the Arabs.
The Jewish National Council
executive meeting Monday voted
to call a session of the full
membership in the next few
weeks to approve the special de-
fense fund. It will be similar to
the one raised in the 193G-39
Arab rioting.
The council is expected to ap-
prove the raising of the $2,000,-
000 by indirect taxation within
the Jewish community.

that Dondero was lying by mak-
ing public a letter from Secre-
tary of War Patterson stating he
