This sign in the window of the Dexter-Davison Market, 13310 Dex-
ter boulevard, tells in bold language the reaction of the store's
proprietor, Norman Colder, to the murders by the British of Dov
Gruner and three other Palestine patriots. Cottler served as a
Jewish Legionaire in Gen. Allenby's army In Palestine during World
War I.
Rabbi Uri Miller, president of
the orthodox Rabbinical Council
of America, meeting in Detroit
this week, condemned "the brutal
Nazism of the lawless police state,
of cruelty and ignorance and hat-
red which has entered into Brit-
ish officialdom, which has gath-
ered the might and prestige of
the British Empire to crush the
remnants of our people and our
hopes."
Speaking at the eleventh annual
convention of the Rabbinical Coun-
cil, Rabbi Miller declared: "We
are proud of the heroism of Pal-
estine Jewry; of their refusal to
sit with folded hands as the
slaughter of their brethren con-
tinues.
"We are proud of the moral
integrity and spiritual vitality of
the Jewish community of our
homeland, which refuses to be
brow-beaten by brute force. We
pledge them our fullest help and
cooperation. We are one with
them in our struggle for Israel."
The conference closed Tuesday.
