MAN CF TILE WEEI\ Junior Unit Rally
to Launch Drive

X COMMUNITY LEADER whose ability and vision are implicit in
the sincere, outspoken way in which he presents his ideas, even
:n the face of strong opposition, is the man to whom we pay honor
today.
His name is Sidney Alexander and he has devoted himself to
communal service these many years. He is vice-president of the
Detroit Service Group which he helped organize and, as a matter
of course, is active in the current Allied Jewish Campaign as co-
chairman of one of its principal divisions, the professional group.
Member of the community relations committee of the Jewish Com-
munity Council, he feels deeply
about the problems of community

well-being which were discussed
at the recent delegates institute.
"Participation in activities is the
one thing which will create a
Jewish culture," he asserted.
"Sonic people say a clique runs
the town, but that is so because
the grumblers have been in de-
fault of their community obli-
gations."
