Conservatives to Open
First Summer Camp
NEW YORK — A site for the
first summer camp for boys and
girls to be established by the con-
servative Jewish movement has
been purchased near the town of
Eagle River, Wis., by the Chicago
Council of Conservative Syna-
gogues. The camp will be operated
in cooperation with the Teachers
Institute of the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America.
The 160-acre camp will be the
model for a projected series in
various regions of the United
States. The camp, to be known as
Camp Kinneret, will open this
summer.
Jewish study will be integrated
into the daily camp routine. The
language of the camp will be
Hebrew.
Theodore Herzl Lodge of River
Rouge will hold a "Get Better
Acquainted" rally Sunday even-
ing at the clubrooms, 41 Oak
street. A kosher turkey dinner
will be served and a raffle held.
