`The Good Earth'
Slated for Center

The second in a series of five
sessions on "What Problems Does
the College Student Face Today?",
sponsored by the Brandeis Dis-
cussion Group, will be held at 8:30
p.m. Wednesday in the Center li-
brary.
The discussion will be led by
Miss Frances Gould of the Jewish
Vocational Service.
"The Good Earth," starring
Paul Muni and Louise Rainer, will
be presented by the Center Cinema
League at 8 p.m.
This will be the fourth in a
series of five programs designed to
give ideas on the development of
the American social film.
The Wednesday Evening Discus-
sion Group will present Mrs.
Frances Soddy at 9 p.m. Wednes-
day in the Ginsburg Lounge. Her
topic will be "Current Best
Books."
The Center Adult Lounge will
open on Tuesday under the aus-
pices of a volunteer committee
headed by Sylvia Weiss.

Meeting to Chart
Palestine Parley

Following up an earlier rally,
representatives of at least 18
youth groups will send representa-
tives to the Jewish Center Sunday,
Feb. 9, to map the Detroit Jewish
Youth Conference on Palestine.
The conference will open Satur-
day, March 29, at which time a
keynote speaker will appear. A
cultural program is scheduled for
March 30 as well as 15 panel dis-
cussions.
A banquet on the evening of
March 30 will climax the parley.
