to Curb Divorce
Samuel W. Leib, Michigan mem-
ber of the general committee of
Bnai Brith District Grand Lodge
No. 6, who has filed as a candi-
date for circuit judge in the spring
election is a past president of Pis-
gah Lodge, Bnai Brith and was
elected president of the Michigan
Bnai Brith Council in 1941.
During his term of office, the
Michigan plan for purchase of
Hillel Foundation buildings was
inaugurated. Outcome of this plan
were Hillel Foundation buildings
at University of Michigan, Michi-
gan State College and Wayne
University.
Leib strongly advocates the cre-
ation of a domestic relations
branch of the Wayne Circuit Court
to handle divorce matters exclu-
sively.
"Rather than have administra-
tive personnel of the office of the
Friend of the Court try to recon-
cile husbands and wives who are
headed for divorce, a certain defi-
nite number of circuit judges
should act in a conciliatory capa-
city," he says. "In this way, I am
certain that many divorces could
be prevented and these judges
would become experts in family
relations."
EQUALITY CLUB
Proceeds from the Equality
Club's 19th annual donor luncheon
will go to charity. The affair is
scheduled for Feb. 11 at the War-
