Although the authorities have
clamped down a censorship on the
publication of rumors that Clips
carrying "illegals" were on way to
Palestine, information received
here discloses that a large immi-
grant ship was on the high Seas
and expecting to reach Palestine's
waters within a few days.
Concern over the fate of the
passengers is felt here because of
the rough seas. A British destroy-
er was reported to have sighted
the ship.

Arbitration Bid
Scorned by News

The Detroit Jewish News has
refused to arbitrate a challenge
of its published circulation figures
made by the Jewish Chronicle,
Walter E. Klein of the Jewish
Community Council informed the
Chronicle this week.
The Jewish News, in a recent
Issue, declared that Its circulation
figures are "three times" those of
any Jewish publication in the
state. The Jewish Chronicle, be-
lieving that its average weekly
paid circulation, is greater than
that of the Jewish News, at once
challenged the News' claim and
requested investigation and arbi-
tration by an impartial committee
named by the Jewish Community
Council, whose decision the Jewish
Chronicle agreed would be final.
Arbitration was asked to avoid
an open clash in the city between
two leading Jewish agencies.
After several weeks' delay, the
News informed Klein that it does
not choose to submit the matter
to arbitration.

How funny can you
be at 21?

ACCORDING TO GINNY SIMMS-

"very, very funny." That's why she
picked Donald O'Connor for the per-

night show. (Listen tonight!)
You'll agree with Ginny—and with
her growing radio audience-21-year-
old O'Connor is one of the most lik-
able young comic you've ever heard.
