The engagement of Evelyn Stein
to Monte Gittleman has been an-
nounced by the bride-elect's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stein of
Taylor avenue.
Gittleman is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Gittleman of Cort-
land avenue.
NEW YORK—A program to in-
tensify American women's parti-
cipation in speeding relief to Eu-
rope and in resettling large num-
bers of Jews in Palestine, the
United States and other friendly
lands, will be drawn up when the
executive committee of the na-
tional women's division of the
United Jewish Appeal meets Oct.
14 and 15 at the Waldorf Astoria
Hotel.
Mrs. Henry Wineman will rep-
resent Detroit at the conference.

Holzman are back from a motor
trip to Quebec and the New Eng-
land States which followed their
marriage in August at the Con-
gregation Bnai David.

Mrs. Holzman is the former
Dorothy Wohl, daughter of Mrs.
Pauline Wohl of Elmhurst avenue.
The groom is the son of Mr. and

Ida Wohl, the bride's sister, was
maid of honor and Mrs. Phillip
Feigenson, the groom's sister, was
matron of honor. Phillip Feigenson
served as best man. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Lester Jeross, Helen
Starr and Estelle Targow and
ushers were Lester Jeross, Robert
Wolok and Gerald Sampson.
